Since 1997, the  3DIM Conference is dedicated to 3-D imaging and modeling and their applications. It brings together researchers from academic, industrial and national laboratories in the areas of computer vision, computer graphics, and geometric modeling, as well as users of the technologies. The contributions focus on theoretical developments, technological innovations, and applications ranging from manufacturing to archaeology. Recent years have seen a rapid increase in research interest and in the number and variety of actual applications, driven by the wider availability of key technological components; consequently, the research focus is evolving towards a new set of open problems, aimed at providing increased performance in existing usages as well as radically new approaches and fields of applications.

The 3DIM2005 Conference Committee invites you to submit original  full papers describing previously unpublished work no later than December 01, 2004 (with conditional extension to December 08). As in previous years, the papers will be reviewed by an international program committee. Accepted papers will be presented in single-track oral sessions and a poster session.

The Conference Proceedings are published by the IEEE Computer Society Press. The Proceedings will be available on-site.

Papers are invited in the areas of:

Smart/enhanced/hand-held sensors
Sensor calibration methods
Performance assessment
Automated view planning
3-D from multiple images and video
Geometric signal processing
Segmentation, edge detection
Image registration and integration
Multiresolution 3-D representations
Shape and appearance modeling
Object recognition and classification
Surface/solid modeling from images
Reverse engineering
Dimensional inspection
Object/human/site modeling
Manufacturing/medical applications
Heritage, art history, archaeology
Virtual environment modeling
as well as related areas.

Further details on the electronic submission procedure and authors instructions are available in the paper submission section of the conference website.
