Paper Submission

The  Paper Submission site is now CLOSED

On-line submission procedure:

Please read the formating instructions below.

You must register as a user on the submission site (click here), and then upload your manuscript.

Please take the time to download back your own paper from the site and
verify its integral upload:
your internet connection may
impose limits on upload size that we cannot identify or correct from our end.

Contact us if you experience difficulties.

Formating instructions:

As with previous 3DIM conferences, the entire paper submission and review process is electronic.  The Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press, and will be available on-site. A CD-ROM of the Proceedings will be included. Final formating instructions for accepted papers will come from IEEE.

For the submission stage: papers submitted for review must follow  the IEEE CS Press Proceedings two-column format. The maximum paper length for review as well as for publication is 8 pagesPapers accepted for either oral or poster presentation will be allocated the same number of pages (8) in the final version. There will be no provisions for purchasing additional pages.

The review process is anonymous, but not double-blind: while you are not requested to conceal your identity on the submitted manuscript, you may do so if you prefer. The reviewers will not have access to information other that the submitted PDF file.

Electronic manuscripts must be submitted in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, readable with at least version 5.0.x (English) of Acrobat Reader

For LaTeX users:  We provide a LaTeX class and some conversion information that should assist you in preparing your paper for review (NOTE: please make sure you use the latest version of this class). If you are still using LaTeX 2.09 (and .sty files), you are strongly urged to switch to LaTeX2e and the New Font Selection System. The fonts provided by the times package are slightly narrower than the CM fonts, thus making it easier to fit your ideas in 8 pages. More importantly, PDF files created with only Type 1 Fonts will be of much nicer appearance on screen.

Author FAQ:

Q1: Who will be publishing the Proceedings of 3DIM2005?

As was the case for previous 3DIM conferences, the final version of the papers will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press, and the proceedings will be made available at the Conference. Every accepted paper will be published in the proceedings, in both paper and CD-ROM version. Formating requirements for the final paper will be provided by the publisher, if your paper is selected. For your manuscript, be sure to follow the instructions.

Q2: Are formats other than PDF acceptable for draft papers ?

No, we need to keep the number of formats to something manageable, so we ask that you stick to Adobe Acrobat PDF. This facilitates the handling and distribution of manuscripts, and ensures that your paper appears to the reviewer in the form that you intend. There are several commercial and free tools and services to generate PDF files. Please ensure that you embed all non-standard fonts. You should test your file with the Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or later. If for some reason you are unable to produce a PDF file, please contact our Secretariat at least 3 days before deadline to make special arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE: details of the camera-ready final paper format will be specified by the publisher upon acceptance.

Q3: Can I paper-mail or e-mail  my submission ?

NO, we only accept electronic submissions via the website. The software also manages the whole review process, and electronic delivery of documents to referees is a key component for ensuring an efficient review process.

Q4: Does a paper currently being considered by another conference can qualify for submission to 3DIM2005 ?

No, only if it is rejected by the other conference/publisher prior to December 01 2004 can you submit it to 3DIM2005. It is considered bad form to have a paper simultaneously under review for two publications.

Q5: What is due on the Paper Submission Deadline ?

The deadline is for us to receive, through this website, the draft of your paper that will be sent to the Program Committee for review. It must be a full paper, formated according to instructions.  There will not be any conditional acceptances.
We will only accept papers in PDF format.  Please note that we will only accept a single file upload consisting of your paper in PDF. If your paper is accepted, referees may have suggestions for minor changes that would improve your paper. The format of the final version will be specified by the publisher, IEEE Computer Society Press.
