THURSDAY EVENING SOCIAL EVENT:

Be sure to join other 3DIM participants for a closing social gathering  in one of the best locations  in historic Old Montréal, Les Terrasses Bonsecours on the Quays, offering a unique panorama of the old and new city, right along the St-Lawrence river. It is the perfect occasion to explore a favourite part of the city, relax and have enjoyable discussions with your colleagues. Cover charge is complimentary  for all 3DIM participants *and friends* , food and drink is available at very affordable prices. Details will be provided during the conference. Make your travel plans accordingly, and don`t miss it !

NEW FOR 2007: Open Demo Night !

TECHNICAL DEMOS:

Participants to 3DIM 2007 will have the opportunity to demonstrate prototype working systems or present commented videos in an informal evening session.
The purpose of this session is to provide a forum for participants to demonstrate
their most recent innovations and discuss with fellow researchers. Authors of papers (oral or posters) may take the occasion to show additional results, videos or even a working prototype; but the session is open to all registered participants. Demonstration areas with poster boards, tables and power outlets (110V@60Hz) will be provided. Additional arrangements may be possible, based on availability of resources.

If you are interested, please send an email containing a title, a short description of the demonstration (including material used) along with technical requirements, before July 15th, to the following address: 3dimconf -at- nrc.ca,  with the title "3DIM2007: demo night". A confirmation email will be sent to you shortly after the deadline (or before).

RESEARCH SHOW AND TELL:

As part of the Tuesday night demo session, all participants are invited to informally present and discuss current research and results in areas relevant to the 3DIM conference, in addition to the technical demonstrations.

If you are interested, simply bring your own laptop computer to the demo session, and fire it up; the goal is to allow open discussions of current research themes in an informal atmosphere.

Please note that you should be able to run your computer in standalone (battery) mode, since there may not be a sufficient number of power outlets for everybody.

Take this opportunity to showcase early or already published results, highlight your current work directions, challenge accepted paradigms, and discuss it all with your colleagues. This time period is yours. It is a good way to get to know fellow researchers and to get your current interests known to all.
