Formating instructions: PLEASE READ
CAREFULLY: As with previous
3DIM conferences,
the entire paper submission and review process is electronic.
The Proceedings will be published by the IEEE
Computer Society Press,
and will be available on-site. Final formating instructions for
accepted papers will be issued by the IEEE Computer Society Press. For 3DIM2007, the review process is double-blind: you must conceal your identity on the submitted manuscript and supplemental material. As is the normal practice, this means that you must not indicate your name or affiliation on the paper, acknowledgements must not be included in the manuscript, and references to your previous papers or research must only be included in a form that do not link them to you. For examples of anonymous formatting strategies, in particular of your own references, you may consult the CVPR 2007 or SIGGRAPH 2007 sites. Electronic manuscripts must be submitted in Adobe Acrobat PDF
format, readable with at least version 7.0.1 (English) of Acrobat Reader. When
using PDF preparation
tools, please make sure that you are embedding all required
non-standard fonts, or avoid them altogether; otherwise your manuscript
may not print or display properly using the basic Acrobat Reader
installation (or alternate PDF readers), thus causing substantial
delays in the review process. Supporting material: a
video may also be uploaded, its size is limited to 20 Mb. It is your responsability to
ensure that the video is easily readable with common codecs and
softwares (recommendations: codecs: DiVX, MPEG4, H.264, Sorenson,WMV;
players: Quicktime, Windows Media Player, DivX player). Remember that
the reviewers are NOT obliged to view the video, so it is to your
advantage to make their life as easy as possible; please note that the
video contents should also be ANONYMIZED. For LaTeX users: We provide a LaTeX
class and some conversion information that should assist you in
preparing
your paper for review (NOTE: please make sure you use the latest
version
of this class). If you are still using LaTeX 2.09 (and .sty files), you
are strongly urged to switch to LaTeX2e and the New Font Selection
System.
The fonts provided by the times package are slightly narrower
than the CM fonts, thus making it easier to fit your ideas in 8 pages.
More importantly, PDF files created with only Type 1 Fonts will be of
much
nicer appearance on screen. You may also use some of the other LaTeX
packages that are availble as long as they conform to the formatting
standards. Author FAQ: Q1: How should I identify my paper, if the submission is anonymous ? Of course, the submission system keeps track of submissions and their authors, but we also ask that you include the SUBMISSION ID # issued to you when you first create a submission in place of the authors field in your pdf file. We also request that, if you submit a video, it starts with a fixed title image containing the title of the paper and the submission id number. Q2: How do I submit a video ? On the paper submission page, there is a text box selection to indicate whether you are uploading the paper or the video file. Q3: Are formats other than PDF acceptable for draft papers ? No, we need to keep the number of formats to something manageable, so we ask that you stick to Adobe Acrobat PDF. This facilitates the handling and distribution of manuscripts, and ensures that your paper appears to the reviewer in the form that you intend. There are several commercial and free tools and services to generate PDF files. Please ensure that you embed all non-standard fonts. You should test your file with the Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 or later. PLEASE NOTE: details of the camera-ready final paper format will be specified by the publisher upon acceptance. Q4: Can I paper-mail or e-mail my submission ? NO, we only accept electronic submissions via the website. The software also manages the whole review process, and electronic delivery of documents to referees is a key component for ensuring an efficient review process. Q5: Does a paper currently being considered by another conference can qualify for submission to 3DIM2007 ? No, only if it is rejected by the other conference/publisher prior to April 2, 2007 can you submit it to 3DIM2007. It is considered bad form to have a paper simultaneously under review for more than one publication. Identically, you should not submit the paper to another conference or journal until the decision for 3DIM is sent to you. Q6: I need more information before I submit a paper, or I am experiencing problems when trying to submit my work, whom do I contact ? You may contact the Conference Chair by email ( guy.godin at nrc-cnrc.gc.ca, you must include the word 3DIM2007 at the beginning of the subject line) for enquiries concerning paper formatting, relevance of a topic to the conference, or other issues. |
